Vali & Co. becomes full member of Russell Bedford network

July 2016

Congratulations to Zimbabwean firm Vali & Co., which has received an upgrade to full member status, having joined as a correspondent in 2011.

The firm was founded in 1988 by Ephraim C. Mbodza, and initially provided accounting, taxation, secretarial and general business consultancy. In 2006, the firm obtained an audit licence and commenced provision of both external and internal audit services.

Previously a partner with a Big-4 firm, Jabulani Mavimba joined Vali & Co. as a partner in 2015, with Edward N. Mbodza in the position of Director of Audit. The principals are supported by around 35 professional and administrative staff.

With offices in the capital, Harare, and second city, Bulawayo, Vali & Co. focuses on public sector audit work, especially local authorities and schools. The client base also includes real estate agencies, law firms, insurance companies and others. The firm is USAID-accredited and performs audit work for international NGOs.

A separate related business unit, Vali Academy, provides professional (ACCA accredited) training in the accounting field.

Speaking about Vali & Co.'s new status, the firm's founder Ephraim C. Mbodza said: "The membership upgrade is a clear indicator of the development of Vali & Co. over the past five years as a correspondent of Russell Bedford. We are eager to grow our business via the network, which continues to help us to break the barriers to success and provides us with the opportunity to improve our international offering."
