Are you satisfied with what you’ve done and who you’ve been while you did it?

June 2018

This time last year I took to social media to promote my experiences - mocked by some as “inspirational speeches” ;-) but praised by others for the energy & excitement I relay for the job that I do.

In Hong Kong between meetings, I heard from my hotel TV “Are you satisfied with what you’ve done and who you’ve been while you did it?”

Got me thinking... I’m meeting great people again, second year around, having wonderful conversations, learning & teaching at the same time. People appreciate you travelling to see them and sharing your knowledge & experiences. We can learn so much from each other if we just sit down & talk.

Disagreements should be given time to hear both sides. It frustrates me when people won’t listen and prefer to avoid the discussion. Very often simple misunderstandings and years of bad feeling can be avoided if only people would make the effort to talk and reconcile.

So, travel the world as much as you can, meet people, listen and understand them. Love the people who treat you right. Forgive the ones who don't... just because you can.

And then you should be satisfied with what you’ve done and who you’ve been while you did it.

Fabulous hospitality at Russell Bedford Hong Kong!
