Russell Bedford enhances membership offering with NASBA approval for Group Internet Based Training

January 2022

Russell Bedford International’s appointment as a sponsor on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors has been enhanced by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Having received approval from NASBA at the end of 2021, following an assessment of the network’s online events, Russell Bedford is now able to issue CPE credits to US CPA members attending Group Internet Based training, supplementing their long-standing approval for physical Group Live events.

The network’s enhanced status as a sponsor on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors means that, as of January 2022, employees of all Russell Bedford member firms in the US are entitled to claim CPE credits for their attendance at Group Internet Based training events as well as continuing to claim credits when attending Group Live events in-person.

Russell Bedford’s new status as a registered sponsor, affirms the network’s commitment to the delivery of high quality continuing professional education, in compliance with the Statement of Standards for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Programs (revised December 2019) (Standards) and the program requirements of the National Registry of CPE Sponsors.

Speaking about the network’s new status, CEO Stephen Hamlet said: “Offering professional and personal development opportunities to our members is a key benefit of Russell Bedford membership and an area that we continuously strive to advance and improve.”

He added: “Gaining additional approval from NASBA for our online training is a huge boost in more than one way. Firstly, by completing rigorous screening that scrutinizes the delivery of our online events, we’ve proven that our events meet NASBA’s very high standards and secondly, we now place ourselves in the position of being able to support our member firms in helping their employees to advance themselves professionally. In offering the vital CPE credits required for logging their continuing professional education, we are delighted to be able to provide this additional benefit to our US member firms, which will indeed support our network development efforts throughout the country.”
