Making Difficult Conversations Less Difficult

12 March 2026

Webinar: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM GMT

This session focuses on making difficult conversations less challenging by understanding one's approach, recognising their importance, and adopting a mindset for effective communication. Five common approaches to difficult conversations are identified: Pretenders, People Pleasers, Warlords, Compromisers, and Confronters. The speaker emphasises the importance of ego states, particularly the Adult ego state, and the concept of Radical Candor, which combines specific praise and criticism with empathy. A script for difficult conversations is suggested, focusing on the issue, its impact, and the desired action. The session also highlights the role of empathy and the need for private conversations for effective feedback.

Recording available on the members only intranet - recommended watching for those looking for best approaches to difficult conversations and how to best tackle them.
